Teaching a credentialed profession to put AI to work

NALA's members hold credentials and bill their time. Technology programming aimed at that audience usually fails in one of two directions: too abstract to use on Monday morning, or too elementary for people who already spend their working lives inside document heavy systems. The association selects its conference sessions by proposal, and the bar is practical application.

I delivered four sessions across the association's annual Conference and Expo in Louisville, Kentucky.

Integrating AI and Digital Tools in the Legal Research Process: A New Era for Paralegals.

Every session was built around the artifacts the audience actually produces, demand letters, settlement documents, contract drafts and research memos, rather than around the technology itself. Attendees worked on their own output, not on demonstrations.

This is the return that renews a membership. Programming strong enough that members carry it outward, and strong enough that the organizations watching those members come looking for it too. An association's education track can function as a credibility engine for the whole body, not just a line item on the conference agenda.
